Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols received and rejected a contract proposal from St. Louis two weeks ago and there has been no progress in the talks since then, a source told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.

Barring a last-minute deal, the 31-year-old Pujols will make an announcement Tuesday ceasing negotiations, according to USA Today, which was the first to report the Cardinals' offer had been rejected.
Pujols previously said that if a deal was not made by the time he reports for spring training on Wednesday, he will not negotiate again this season.
After he begins spring training, Pujols does not want his agent, Dan Lozano, to discuss a contract with the Cardinals because he doesn't want to have any distractions, a stance he has taken throughout his career.
Ummmm......Okay I'm not going to go too far into this because they could still squeak out a deal....But seriously, I wanna jump up and down right now like a tweenie at a Beiber concert. I don't care what you fucking say, "Screw Pujols I hate the Cards!" Um NO! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY! I would be the first guy in line to buy myself a Pujols jersey.....it would be pretty easy to forget how much he has destroyed. I would gladly get rammed in the ass right now knowing that the Cubs could get the best player of all time next offseason. Seriously people this guy is the G.O.A.T (learn the acronym kids, it is also applied to Michael Jordan) when it is all said and done....I'm going to start "We want Pujols!" chants every game I go to. Look for me in the left field bleachers....I'm the drunk guy in the sombrerro.
